VINNAITHANDI VARUVAYA MOVIE REVIEW

Two reasons which dragged me to the theatre to watch “Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya” on the First Day was A R Rahman and Gowtham Menon. After watching this movie I found 88 other reasons not to watch this movie.

VTV starts at a church in Kerala which shows Karthik(Simbu) attending Jessy’s(Trisha) marriage..He starts narrating his lovestory between Karthik&Jessy..Flashback shows this Mechanical Engineer cum Aspiring Filmmaker trying to woo jessy and the Interval block takes us back to the first scene at church. Jessy say no to marriage and goes out of the church.

I started this review keeping in mind that I can narrate the whole story that you can understand how much confusing it is ! But I am sorry guys, It’s a lackluster movie and I am a confused soul ever since i watched this movie.

Gowtham Menon has let us down terribly with this movie. There are two scenes in this movie when Karthi talks about their chemistry and Love. But as a viewer I never found any chemistry or love between the lead pair. Its an absolute miscast ! Both of them sleepwalks through their character and I bet you never can find any positive energy in their performance.

The person who acts as karthiks friend makes the first half interesting. The supporting cast is Ok but all is letdown by the shoddy screenplay and characterisation

There are certain combinations which can create magic. One among them is Gowtham-harris jeyraj. We missed Harris Jeyraj in this movie. The music by AR Rahman can termed only as good and the Background score outstanding.

Goutham Menon has been brilliantly supported by his technical department but the director himself is the Culprit for the creation of One of the most boring and confusing movie I have ever seen.

To sum it up Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya(VTV) is a Disaster !

I goes with 1 out of 5 for Gowtham Menons Vinnaithandi Varuvaya !

Verdict: Stay away !

MY NAME IS KHAN MOVIE REVIEW

There was an era in this world post 9/11,when a majority of the muslim in the western world felt the burden of his/her name.An era when the identity of a muslim was questioned..Karan johar takes us back to that era to create a movie which has a serious message and at the same time it makes us feel good.

You term it as "Thought Provoking or Entertaining",Karan Johar excels this time as a mature director who handles his craft so well.He has woven so many crowd pleasing moments in his screenplay.Karan plays tricky by creating a feel-good movie with a serious subject.

Shahrukh Khan as Rizwan Khan is lovable. His Inconsistency in performance can be pardoned off due to his dialogue delivery and Charisma. Kajol is class A and we cant imagine anyone else as Mandira in MNIK. The supportive cast is excellent and the foreign artistes convincing.

The strong points of MNIK are:

Chemistry between the lead pair and the soft romance between them

The humanism which Rizwan carries throughout the movie

Decent screenplay and plenty of sharp Oneliners

The portrayal of essential goodness of human spirit through Rizwan and many of the supporting cast

Excellent background music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy

Different cinematography comparing to other Karan Johar movies. Here colors are limited and most scenes looks raw, which immensely helps to lift the mood of the movie

Karan Johar, who deviates from his earlier kindof bubble gum romance and yields the megaphone as a mature director who confidentally approach this subject in the company of King Khan & Kajol

Negative points are far and few which is compensated by so many positive aspects. To sum it up'My name is Khan" is an excellent art by Karan Johar which is just next to a classic.Rizwan will make you forget "all the raj's & rahul's" by shahrukh. Its a milestone movie for all associated with it.

I go with 4 out of 5 and a thumbs up for MNIK

ISHQIYA MOVIE REVIEW

The movie was a hot property ever since it was announced due to the names associated with it which are Vishal bhardwaj-The talented Producer and the three great actors like Naseeruddin Shah/Arshad Warsi/Vidya Balan.

Set in a rural landscape,Ishqiya explores the basic human emotions as influenced by desire, greed and revenge. The raw feel of Indian Villlages are captivated beautifully and the lead actors makes the going on interesting by their histrionics and top notch acting capabilities.Naseeruddin shah excels as Khallujaaan especially in the romantic scenes.Arshad Warshi strikes chord with the audience after a long time.Vidya Balan surprises you yet again after Paa'.

Abhishek Chaubey, the director needs to be lauded for this excellent work. The extra talented vishal Bhardwaj pens the dialogues which are funny and hard hitting at times. The twists in the script and the narration makes Ishqiya a treat to watch. The songs are incorporated with the movie and you enjoy it since it helps the movie to gain momentum rather than acting as a speed breaker as in most of the recent movies.'Ibn e Batuta and Dil to bacha hai' is the pick and is picturized beautifully.Rahat Fateh ali Khan & Gulzar weaves magic with Dil To Bacha hai jee.

Crisp editing in the second half could have made this movie much better. The climax sequence is plain ordinary comparing to the rest of the movie.

Lets all look forward for any movie which has the name Vishal Bhardwaj connected to it in any ways.

Verdict: 3.5 out of 5 .Be in Ishq with Ishqiya !

Veer Movie Review

The movie directed by Anil Sharma is set in the year 1857 and would have been a flop even if it was released in the same year. Veer is an impossile movie to watch. Its a disastrous movie for Salman to start his year.

The movie starts with a war like scenario and ............. I am sorry guys .. I cant waste my time on this coz already i have lost my 80 minutes on this movie and i have left the screen even before the Interval.

I conclude "THE REAL VEER IS THE ONE WHO WATCHES THIS MOVIE FROM START TO FINISH"

Verdict: Stay Away !!!!!
